Thermoplastic.

I love this!!!
Ok so I bought this for instant coffee upstairs so I didn’t have to go downstairs to kitchen. I know. So lazy lol. But I have since moved to single story. This stays on my counter. I use it for coffee, tea, cup of noodles… it heats up fast and shuts off by itself. It’s great!

Worked until it bellied up
It worked fine until it bellied up. Purchased May 20, 2019 broke February 15, 2024. Something with electrical connection. Though these are nice I think I will go for a plain stainless steel kettle that heats up on the stove. The only problem with it is when I make coffee using the pour over method it loses heat as it takes several pour overs to make the coffee. Otherwise I was pleased with it. Too many appliances including a $400 Kitchen Aid Mixer stop working due to such issues. Getting the mixer fixed is possible but a hassle. Fortunately I don’t bake anymore.

Price right
It’s all plastic which is what I needed for traveling. I was dog sitting and the house didn’t have a kettle, electric or stove top that I could find. I don’t like microwaved water for tea and an open pot on the stove wasn’t practically or safe. The dog was distracting you know what I mean like a toddler.This came over night if not sooner and fit the bill. It’s lightweight and I like the bright bit of color. I got the green though the pink was tempting (going by price) so it stands out and I won’t forget it or remember it’s mine. Turns off by its self and kept the water warm for a while. I have a fancy glass one I keep in my kitchen but this served well for the road or in my office or studio.

Exceeded expectation
This kettle boils water in 3.5 to 4 minutes depending on how much I put in. I keep it in my bedroom so I can quickly boil water for tea in the evenings. I have some invisible disabilities so having this close by helps me significantly. I didn’t expect to love this kettle as much as I do. It has quickly come to be one of my go to items to make hot water. I have timed how long this kettle takes to boil vs. A teapot on my flat top glass stove and this wins hands down. It is a full 3 min faster. The cord that goes to it is nice and thick; however I wish it was longer. The kettle is easy to clean and I like being able to watch the water boil. All in all it is good addition to my make life easier collection. And it’s pink! Who doesn’t lovepink?

Pretty much exactly what you would expect from the listing
So far I love it but I’ve only used it once to see how long it took and make sure the light and automatic shut-off was working properly. Both worked wonderfully, lights up while it’s on and shuts off when it’s done. At max capacity with cold tap water it took approximately 10 minutes to boil. This is not maintaining a bubbling, rolling, overflowing boil, in case someone for some reason expects that, but it is and it’s perfect for my uses(reg and loose leaf tea and the occasional instant soup). To clarify it does bubble up for those of you who may not know how these kettles work that is what triggers the shut-off so it then goes back to its resting state. The handle remains cool enough so no danger there, the body of it is decently hot though as is to be expected. Currently it has been shut off for 14 minutes and is still steaming. The way I drink tea I could easily drink a cup and still have enough hot water for another which is kind of awesome.Cons:The plastic is obviously a little cheap feeling as a few others have mentioned. This is really inconsequential to me as the price is low enough I would expect Something to be on the cheaper and I’d rather it be that than say the heating element. It’s still decently think and so far appears to distribute or not distribute heat as it should, so not a big deal. As a side note is also still looks fairly nice.Cleaning. Okay so these things are kind of always a bitch to clean. For this one the mouth is fairly small so it was a bit difficult to get my hand down in it to wipe it out(and I am a fairly small woman). Again, a lot of these electric kettles have this issue so to be expected. The kettle cannot be submerged so the outside just needs to be wiped down with a damp cloth or sponge and if any soap is used make sure the soap is cleaned off and it’s completely dry before use. Now for the little filter. None of my old kettles have this so it’s a new, kind of cool little feature for me. There’s nothing really telling you how to remove it or replace it so I had to mess with it a little to figure it out and with the cheap plastic I was a little scared to do so. Was also kind of annoying with the small opening trying to see and feel but it slides out with a little pressure and then you slide it in and pop it back into place so pretty simple once I figured it out.The chord. So the chord is reallyy short. Like you should probably just put it right in front of the plug in. This is probably the most annoying con for me cause the spot I had is really right next to the plug in but still far enough away that it barely reached and my kettle is practically against the next item on my counter. I did plan on getting a strip for that outlet so I’ll make it work but was still a bit frustrating. So prepare to have it directly in front of a plug in if you keep it on your counter.Packaging. Okay so I noticed others mention this in reviews and was worried about it but mine showed up all in one piece undamaged. BUT I can see where the concern comes from. It is packaged in a plastic bag inside a box inside your standard Amazon so no not a lot of cushion going on if the handlers were too rough I could easily see it showing up damaged.Side-note: now at nearly 30 minutes and still steaming so that’s pretty awesome for a ten minute heating time.Otherwise everything looks good I’m giving 5 stars as none of my cons are more than minor inconveniences I mostly expected and don’t really differ from anything in the listing. Great bang for your buck, I’m super excited about it and can’t wait for the much needed tea-time it will bring me!

Great electric kettle, just don’t pour too fast
This works great and heats up water fast. If I’m boiling water to cook I’ll use this as a head start instead of waiting ten minutes for my stove to slowly heat up water in a pan. I love that it lights up from the inside when on, it shuts off for safety when it hits boil, and is cool to the touch and can be carried elsewhere and rest on a surface to stand by. It’s also great to carry into the bathroom when I’m unclogging my sink and want to pour boiling water down to clear it. My only note: there’s a mesh filter on the spout to catch debris which is a good thing. But if you are just wanting to dump water out that’s still hot, or get impatient while pouring and tilt the kettle too far, the filter impedes the water stream and it can splatter unpredictably. It’s possible to pop the lid and dump it out that way quickly over the sink, but there’s no way to empty the kettle quickly and accurately using the spout if I’m trying to fill a stock pot for pasta with just-boiled water; you must patiently tip and pour a delicate stream like you would for tea which takes about 30 seconds when full. I think the spout filter can be removed but I still think if you pour too fast it might seep from the lid.

Perfectly pink
Took a bit to get here but was worth the price tag, under $20. Easy top fill hole. I like that it holds a decent amount of water the water literally boils in 3mins. There’s an auto shut off and I really like that the base tends to get a bit hot. Be careful when cleaning you don’t get the bottom wet where the connection is. I like the window to see the water boiling. Easy to clean and the cord wraps around the base on the bottom so cords don’t clutter the counter.

Good but not perfect
This is a good electric tea kettle for being so cheap, but you (me) do get what you pay for. The water volume this holds is good, quickness to bringing water to a boil is good, look good but if I may offer a few suggestions for improvement (just my opinion),. . .1. I thought the electric cord could have been a little longer.2. The lid opening is too small. Big enough for pouring in water, but not big enough to put my hand in for a quick wash.3. I thought the on/off switch could be better with a LED indicator that lights up on the switch to show that the unit was on.But for all the short comings, I think it’s a good buy for the value. I’ve only used it for only two days as of writing this review, so not sure of the longevity but if it’ll last a couple or few years, I’d think this is well worth the price.(I only paid $12 so I really can’t complain)

WORTH IT!
For being so affordable and easy to work with this is definitely a buy worthy product!I’ve started myself on a tea journey and surprisingly stove top kettles run about the same price as this. Having been boiling water in a pot and forgetting about it, I assume even with the scream I would forget abt my stove top kettle.This auto shuts off right as the water gets to boiling. It’s super easy to use and easy to clean as well. Pop it on the rotating tray, switch the lever. The lights come on and water starts to boil. It’s done in about 10mins and auto shuts off. Now if I forget I’m boiling water the worse thing to happen is start the process over with a simple click on a switch! ADHD approved!

Excellent Kettle
This is my second Ovente electric kettle. I had the basic model for about eight years, and it worked beautifully until it suffered an act of violence, perpetrated by a feline. I didn’t even look at other brands, I went straight to Ovente page to buy a new kettle. I decided to upgrade a little because I loved the idea of the easy fill feature. I was right, it’s a great feature. It’s an awesome kettle, just like it’s predecessor. I use it several times a day for tea. It boils the water quickly and efficiently. Electric kettles definitely are not a staple appliance in American homes, the way they are in some other countries, but if you’re a tea drinker it should be.

Irish Mum Approved
As a first generation American, I haven’t been as much of a tea drinker as the rest of my family. Instead, ramen is my comfort food. I finally bought my first kettle this year so that I could literally just keep it in my room and pretty much have ramen on demand.My mum moved here from Ireland about 30 years ago, and she is a huge tea drinker. I went over to her house the other week, shortly after buying my first grown up appliance-the kettle, I looked on her counter where she was boiling water in a kettle not unlike the one I just bought.It turns out that they are both the same brand and everything; except she is the traditional Irish mother making tea, and I am simply making college cuisine.

The color is great & it works as an electric kettle should work
My old Hobbs kettle died & I wanted a new one. I don’t need any fancy temp controls, etc.. I just wanted an electric kettle for tea water. I liked the green (it matches the pod coffee maker & milk frother) This works. I was a little amused that it lights up inside while heating (kinda like the plant lights in the garden LOL) and kinda bummed it doesn’t beep when it turns off. Not that it said it would – I am used to my old one that makes a really loud click when it turns off. This one is quiet so I have to pay attention. BUT it is slow when full about 5+ minutes. Less water = less time but still slower than I would like. AND I had to put it on a trivet so it wouldn’t melt my countertop. My old one had a better, thicker more insulated bottom.Pros: It works & is inexpensive & a fun color & has a strange inner light when heating.Cons: The hub it sits on is thin &the bottom gets really hot, it is faster than heating water on the stove BUT it is not super fast, hard to tell when it is done since the shut off is so quietAll in all it is a decent, inexpensive electric kettle.

Reliable, inexpensive, & lightweight.
I do wish it was not made out of plastic, but I like that it seems sturdy and durable. It heats water to a boil efficiently, and switches off for safety. It has lasted much longer than other brands of electric kettles I have owned. They all died an early and unexpected death soon after purchase. Hopefully this one will last longer. So far, I am pleasantly surprised!

TLDRGreat electric kettle that heats up fast with only a few cons. Would buy again, just be aware of the cons.Cons* Hard to hand clean, you’ll want a cleaning wand due to the small lid diameter.* No seals so hot steam escapes the spout, lid, and button. This means areas like the button that collect moisture over time have the potential to trap it and bacteria.* Hot water against heat resistant plastic means the body will be hot to the touch, which means you, kids, pets need to be careful perhaps when you set it at a low table.* I wanted the water to reach a rolling boil for at least one minute, but the auto cutoff happens sooner so I have to hold the button down with a knife (due to hot steam escaping handle). This was important due to a boil water notice.

Fabulous Hot Pot
This is the best top pot I’ve ever had the heating element runs along the back, as well as on the bottom of the pot so it heats rapidly and evenly. Element is tucked up inside the bottom, and there’s very little chance that it could ruin itself. You’re able to fill it without opening it through the open close place in the center of the lid on the top. The is a pop-up with a button. Overall I really really like it.

What’s not to like
Loved the color. It’s true red and fits with the kitchen agents perfectly. Functionality met my expectation. I drnk a lot of tea and this works perfectly. I love the light and the auto shut off. Nice size with top is awkward to open

It’s cute.
Being my fav color is pink, seeing it every morning cheers me up. But truthfully, it works like any good kettle would. It hasn’t given me any problems. It’s so lightweight that it doesn’t hurt my shoulder or elbow joints which is an ongoing problem with me.It is not an instant boil pot like I thought it was but that’s my oversight.So, I’m pleased with it and would recommend.
